Slovak Investment Holding Successfully Concludes Investment in Filmzie
Bratislava, May 30, 2025 – Slovak Investment Holding (SIH) announces the successful completion of its investment in Filmzie, a.s., originally made in 2021 through a Convertible Loan Agreement (CLA) under the SIH Anti-Corona Capital Programme. This initiative was established to provide growth capital to innovative companies during the COVID-19 pandemic, a period marked by limited access to traditional funding sources.
In May 2025, Filmzie repaid the loan in full, marking the official closure of SIH’s investment. The repayment confirms the effectiveness of repayable financial instruments in supporting the growth of promising Slovak companies, even during economically challenging times.
The purpose of the investment was to support the expansion and development of Filmzie – an innovative tech platform focused on digital distribution of films and TV series. Over the past few years, Filmzie has recorded substantial growth and has become a notable player in the global streaming services market.
"The investment in Filmzie is a strong example of the importance of targeted public support during times of crisis, especially when access to growth capital is limited. It allowed us to step in where traditional financing was not available and enabled the company to grow. With the successful return of funds, SIH can now reinvest in other high-potential projects," said Juraj Jusko, Director of Direct Investments at Slovak Investment Holding.
Filmzie praised the collaboration with SIH and emphasized the importance of the investment for the company’s development: "SIH’s support came at a pivotal stage of our growth. It helped us accelerate the development of our platform, expand our offering, and enter new markets. We are proud to have repaid the loan on time and to have honored the trust placed in us. We especially appreciated the professionalism of the SIH team throughout the cooperation," said Milan Gajdoš, Co-Founder of Filmzie.
This investment was fully aligned with SIH’s mission to foster the growth potential of innovative companies through return-based financing that delivers both economic and social impact.
